I have and FNP40. I like it, interchangeable backstraps are nice. Every time i pull the trigger, it goes pew.

I hear they make excellent guns. The FNX was my number two pistol of choice between that and the CZ75. I only went CZ because it was more comfortable. I think I may still get a FNX though.

Thanks, guys. What's the difference between the FNS and FNX?

@Dave: I don't see the P model. What makes it different?

Have an FN 5.7 in my safe... It's cool and all. Supposedly groups a pie plate at 100 yards. Armor piercing ammo etc.

I shoot my ruger SR1911 better at the range though.

I've had an FNX-9 for about 4 years now. I really like it. DA/SA hammer fired and it goes bang every time. One thing you will notice is it pretty tough to insert a full magazine into a closed chamber, but you're not really supposed to "insert" the mag. You "slam it home," right? lol

FNP series is discontinued. The FNX was it's replacement. There were a few refinements/changes made.

1. FNX has ambi safety-FNP has a reversibly one. You could get the FNP in decock only (no safety) if you like. FNX has aggressive grip texturing, lower bore axis, polymer lower profile safety/decocking lever's, slightly lighter, slightly different rail, deep v rear sights and big dot front sight and a flat-top slide. Mags are also 17 rounds in the FNX and it has more back straps and uses a plastic tab to retain them instead of the screw on the FNP back straps.

2. FNX is a scaled down version of the FNP 45).

3. The FNP could be completely stripped (fire control group can be taken out without drilling through the decocker lever). Some prefer the smoother grip, and it can be had in just decock only.

I was about to take the plunge on a FNX-45, but decided to go the M&P route. Just felt right in my hands.

I found the FNX/FNP to have a better trigger than the FNS. I don't like striker fired that much though (Walther PPQ/M&P Apex excluded)... FWIW

Yeah, that gun is just a tad bit too expensive.

My primary carry is an FN 5.7. I fricking love the thing. Works flawlessly. Accurate as hell, light, large mag capacity (I have the extended mags for it as well), and FN's customer service has been pretty easy to work with when I wanted to get some extra parts for a rainy day.

I think I might get the FNX45. They seem to come in different styles. Any suggestions?
