Absolutely. Phenomenal movie and performance.

I dont see Hannibal right there....looks like Brian Cox saying lines Hannibal would say.
I am beginning to think Hugh Dancy and Madds Mikkelson are the best two potrayers of those two roles.

Never seen it, but I'll throw some love to Brian Cox.

Manhunter is awesome. Great movie, great acting, awesome 80s soundtrack.

I've never seen it, but I have been meaning to, and will soon. Especially considering Bryan Cox is in it.

Red Dragon has better actors but that doesn't necessarily mean better acting. Manhunter has more style and atmosphere. Top notch Mann direction.

Can't agree. Saw it in the theatrical release, and it was actually Cox's first big break in America. He was the guy who really made the biggest impact in the movie, along with Tom Noonan as Dollarhyde (creepier than Ralph Feinnes).

Glad to see this getting some play.
I was mauled on here when I suggested that I preferred Cox's performance to Hopkins. I found Cox far more terrifying.

He's a staggeringly underrated actor. Think of how good he was, and yet how different the roles are in Manhunter and Super Troopers. And those are just 2 examples off the top of my head.

Cox v McShane in Kings was absolutely epic.
