Holy crap I had no idea. Despite leaning on the ground game that whole year this is why Lee improved so much on his accuracy and decision making!!!! Whitfield really has my praise now. If he did that for Lee God imagine Harris when he comes back !!

I don't think Whitfield worked with Lee until after LSU/ pre-draft.

Just imagine if Lee would have had Whitfield before his freshman season (redshirt freshman)

Not sure how much that would have mattered with Crowton calling the plays.

But to the OP, Kragthorpe certainly deserves credit for the play we saw out of Lee for the first 3/4's of the '11 season.

I think the QB play would have been much better in 2009-2011 with Cam Cameron here.

The why did LSU put Lee in in 2010 to bail them out of so many games?

What games? And before you say UF, you realize we had 26 points before the lee drive and the fake fg. So yeah he threw the pass that won the game, but we still had the victory in grasp until the defense let brantley drive down the field to take the lead.

Maybe then he would have manned up when Bama blitzed and knocked him on his arse. Lee's problems could not be helped by a football coach, sorry.

Wait what?

In 2010 he hit a very key 3rd down pass while JJ was hurt. I dont know if that qualifies as bailing out. Clutch yes but not bailing out. Say what you want about JJ but outside of 1/9 he always brought it vs Bama.

JJ scored an 80 yd td run. So without that we lose. Lee didn't score against bama. He made a pass to our best wr that ran around the field. Lee didn't really do anything other than stand in the pocket like he's supposed to and hit the open wr like he's supposed to.

I'm not arguing for one or the other. They were both below average and we needed both of their skill sets. I just get tired when people make stuff up to shite on JJ.

I liked Lee, and I thought he did some good thing, but I agree with this. Lee felt the pass rush when it wasn't even there. Rarely did he step into a throw, but instead would just fling it if the rush got close. It's what he did against Bama in 2011, and the reason he was pulled and never really saw any time after that. Seemed like a good kid, but he just didn't want to stand in there against a rush.

Wasn't Jefferson 3/10 for 30 yards passing against UT in 2010? He had a great run for the first play from scrimmage but proceeded to do nothing the rest of the game...
