"I don’t need a receipt for a doughnut," Hedberg says in the routine. "I’ll just give you the money, you give me the doughnut. End of transaction. We don’t need to bring ink and paper into this.”

What happened with your girl's manager?

My guess is that he's gonna be slingin' doughnuts a long while:
"I mostly just put the quote there because it's delicious chocolate glazed irony to have that on a receipt at a donut shop," Becker said.
His boss at the doughnut shop thought it was "hilarious."
"It's not like I work at Dunkin' Donuts," Becker wrote on Reddit. "This would never fly in a place like that."
But Becker says his boss' boss put the brakes on the tribute.
"[He] thought it was pretty funny, too, but also thought it was inappropriate," Becker explained. "He actually thought we had somehow been hacked before I copped to it."
Becker was forced to switch to a quote from "Simpsons" creator Matt Groening.
"Donuts, is there anything they can't do?" Groening's quote reads.

i can't understand why the manager/owner had an issue with this. i think that's funny as hell and would give them my business if they did fun stuff like that. Also "Freshest Doughnut Pros" is just about the worst name for a doughnut shop ever

She'll get off much earlier than that...

Probably pissed about the amount of ink and paper he was using.
I imagine a doughnut shop has pretty skinny (ironically) margins.

Receipts are "printed" on thermal paper... no ink used. But I guess it does use a bit more paper with so many words.

"Let's make a clever joke on a receipt at the donut shop I work at, then post it on all social media, then contact yahoo.com so I can interview about how clever my joke was and run people through the entire process because it was such a well thought out and clever joke. Hahahaha I surpise myself with my wit. Never ceasing to amaze."
