I've got a Z10, always like it (and the 8 blackberry's before it). But a recent update made it slow as can be. So I went to reload the OS, and it has been "wiping" itself for going on 18 hours now. Please shame my blackberry ways and convince me to chunk them for good, and go buy a S5, or whatever else is cool these days. Is the S5 the best thing out there right now?

I got an iPhone 4 but will most likely switch to the Samsung Galaxy Active.

I've been wanting to for sometime now but my wife is an Apple addict. Time for change bro.

I went to Costco the other day and the blackberry's there were the best I have ever had. The size of strawberries and so sweet.

All kidding aside.. don't buy the S5, worst mistake I ever made was buying a Samsung, buy something like this instead:

HTC One M8

Nexus 5:

or maybe even the Nexus 6 coming out soon

Where did you get the OS update and what OS are you running?

Well, at least this puts the brakes on that idea.

Went from 10.1 to 10.2, just clicked on update when it came available (no side loading or anything like that).

I tried it, screen is just too small. The Bold really was a better ratio of screen/buttons.

Which is why I'm excited to hear the update to the Q10 will actually go back to the Bold 9900 form factor:

I updated as well and after some initial problems with the speed of the device it seems to be working fine.

Backup your device and download the latest autoloader. What carrier do you have and did you download OTA or through BlackBerry Link? I'm running 10.2.1.2179 with no problems.

Edit. You know with 10.2.1 you can run the majority of Android apps right?

Samsung is fine, but I agree, I'd go with the HTC One M8 or the Nexus first.

For 5 days it just stayed hot all of the time, like it was "working" on something. And my battery life went to nothing. It would die around noon, after a full night's charge. Finally I figured it might be better to do a clean install. I had no idea this "wipe" would take so long. Probably should have deleted all the pictures, just to remove the bulk of the data.

I have owned several Blackberrys...but, my current one is the biggest piece of shite imaginable. Cannot wait to move on to something else.

Downloaded OTA.

From what I'm reading, using an autoloader I could have skipped this wiping process.

I haven't looked into the apps much, but I liked everything else about the upgrade, other than the slow performance I was seeing.

Maybe this thing can work itself out today.

(really is weird to go phoneless for even a day)
