What are some good strategy games for a compelte beginner?

In a novice and ive only played Zoo tycoon and BAttle for Middle earth. I was interested in Toatl War: Rome or civilation. My friends all talk about WOW and Leage of legends. any tips?

The newer civ games are pretty easy to get into. Those games are very different from BFME and Zoo Tycoon though.

Like others have said, you can't go wrong with Civilization. If you go through the tutorial, it slowly walks you through all of the game concepts and systems. Incidentally, the complete edition, which includes all of the expansions and DLC, is on sale right now for $20 bucks (regular $49.99).

(I know it says "Mac" but it's a Steamplay game, so it will work for PC as well.)

As has been said though, it is a VERY different game than Zoo Tycoon or Battle for Middle Earth.

Awe, that sucks. Sorry. Before buying a game, I try to at least take a quick look at the GameDeals subreddit. It's saved me some cash in the past.
