I don't have a clue as to what this shite is.....

I'm pretty sure my yard is centipede. I need help and this is only in my back yard. My front yard is fine.

Does your yard hold water in these areas? Are the dead spots, low spots?

Pets? Urine spots possibly.

Nematodes maybe?

Centipede decline, try cutting your grass a little lower, and getting some warm weather fertilizer.

Also, start by raking that dead grass up. It's covering the spots you want to grow back.

I guess I'll try cutting it shorter... But there literally is nothing in those spots... It's like confetti.

My Yard doesn't hold water and is sloped down to the back fence
My dog doesn't pee in those spots

Definitely this. Gotta get the dead stuff off so nutrients can flow back into the dirt. After you rake it maybe throw some seed down to expedite the regrowth process.

Something else is the dirt might have something wrong as far as water penetration goes. Some fungi release a water-repellant coating onto the sand particles in the dirt causing water penetration to be minimal.

There are soil-wetting agents you can buy to help water penetrate to the roots and help bring back the grass.

pestrong.com is a pesticide site that sells some, you can use this stuff for the penetration of pesticides. But without pesticides it just helps with overall penetration of water.

Guaranteed this stuff only will help if water penetration is your main issue.

There my be some other "cheaper" fixes I would look at before buying this stuff. I would just make sure its a water penetration problem.

You can check your soil before hand. If your dirt is powder dry 1 to 2 inches below the top then water penetration could be your problem. But also remember thatch makes the soil hydrophobic, preventing very little water from penetrating. Just make sure to remove it, that should be your number 1 thing to do to get your lawn back in shape.

Doesn't look like brown patch. Or at least like I have it. Brown patch is more circular and the edges are browner that the interior of the circles when they get large.

Take a few plugs of it and your healthy grass to a farmer co-op type place and they'll tell you what's up with your grass and exactly how to fix it.

MY personal suggestion is to aerate that area very well, add some top soil and then go to lowe's and snag you a $40 dollar bag of whatever seed your type of grass is to take root and start back again.

But it looks like some sort of fungus or something... good luck! Let us know what you do and if it works.

Chinch Bugs

That's my guess too. I had them wreak havoc on my yard a few years back. It looked just like yours did. I ended up re-sodding the bad areas and having it treated for chinch bugs. I hate those bastards.
