Wife has been craving home made salsa, usually just make it fresh and chunky. Tried something a little different this time.
started with some onion, bell pepper, tomatoes, and jalapenos all cut up.
Threw it all on the pit to get a good char and help peel easier.
Done!
Peeled the peppers and tomatoes and threw it all into food processor with a handful of cilantro.
Once processed cooked it over the stove for a little while with some S&P, cumin, and lime juice.
Here is the final pic after it cooked down a little while. (no chip pic)
All in all it was pretty easy, tasted great. I liked the slight smokey flavor from the grill. Wife prefers chunky salsa. I think next time I might add a few more tomatoes and throw it all in the blender after to get a smoother salsa.

This intrigues me. I would definitely go a touch smoother. Why cook it in the skillet?

Those tomatoes
Salsa looks fantastic. That with some solid chips, a separate side a guac, a squeeze of lime over everything ... divine.

Great job, thanks for sharing those pics.

not real sure, to me the grilling didnt tenderize the veggie enough. Just wanted it to have a little less bite I guess maybe let the flavors meld more.

Looks good. I like mine a little more tomatoey, but would tear that up.

I use a pot, but I also like to cook it all together for a bit. Helps the overall taste imo.

I'd add garlic as well.
For sure. Plenty of cumin and cilantro as well. The stove thing I don't understand either, the vegetables were grilled already. Most salsas are made with raw veggies. Seems like a bit of an overkill to throw it in the skillet.

yeah forgot to put that in the write up, though it was just the cheap jarred chopped garlic. Added it once I threw it on the stove for a little while.

I simmer my salsa to reduce for about 30 minutes to an hour
I hate runny salsa

Can I buy a jar? You sell it on the side of the road in RayVegas?
