A Scheduling Rant

These threads about "fairness" of scheduling has gone far beyond ignorant. Why is everyone upset that we play Florida every year - a game most of the college football nation tunes in to watch? You don't hear Florida crying about it. Now you applaud our cancelling NC State, so we can inevitably replace them with Directional FSC U - that will show everyone!
It is embarrassing to live out west and have PAC12 fans calling my fanbase cowardly. This is not the LSU I graduated from. How about this - just cowboy up pussies!!! Or are you just that irreparably scarred from mommy making you put your soccer participation trophies in the attic when you left to attend ULLLL?
I'm thankful that the entitled tools on this site were not born 90 years ago, or we would all be spelling Geaux Tigers in German or Japanese.
Please, do us all a favor and change allegiances to Ole Miss. Go buy yourself a t-shirt from Walmart, iron your skinny jeans and then you can freely cry "fairness" tears into your plastic stemware of Chardonnay.

You're missing the entire point though. Ever been to Athens? I'd like to go more than once every 12 years. I'm going to be close to 40 next time we play there

Nobody (or at least nobody that isn't a dumbass) is necessarily pissed about the idea of playing UF every year, rather that it doesn't rotate. Which is inherently unfair or unbalanced. It's pretty simple.

Probably so that we can schedule a kickoff game against the likes of Oregon, TCU or Wisconsin. All tougher games than NC State.

West Virginia isn't in the Pac 10 or 12. Maybe you mean UW.

I enjoy playing Florida every year but there is no doubt that we have gotten the raw end of the stick over the past decade in relation to our main division rivalry.. It also goes beyond the permanent opponent in that at this point our conference is really two different conferences. The addition of the ninth game or ridding of the permanent opponent would've solved this issue but no, the powers that be saw this as a disadvantage to the conferences chances.. frick Slive and those in sec office and frick the 8 game schedule with a permanent opponent.

Terribly idea with 14 teams. I don't know how the conference voted to keep an 8 game schedule. Should be at least 9 if you want to keep the permanent cross game.
I was thinking about it today, and I'm almost in favor of going to 10 games. No one could complain about playing an uneven number of home/away conference games. And it'd be very unlikely to be competitively unbalanced.

look tough guy, not everybody cares about the Florida game. Big whoop. If the league had expanded to 9 conference games, then great, keep it going. But too keep them and then rotate 6 other teams is stupid simply to keep the Tennessee-Alabama game going.

It's "embarrassing" to me that an "LSU fan" wouldn't know the record between LSU and PAC 12 teams in the past decade well enough to shut up those PAC 12 fans you seem so concerned bout.

Well tell them to frick off and remind them that regardless of fans' opinions, LSU consistently plays and beats the frick out of Top 25 out of conference opponents along with the yearly SEC gauntlet.

Amen my friend. I'm sick and tired of all of the crying over this also. It's really pathetic and embarrassing.
