Anderson Silva looks an awful lot like Sid Vicious - subtle broken leg joke?

On October 19, 2007, Luger suffered a nerve impingement in his neck that led to temporary paralysis. He underwent intravenous antibiotic treatment and was expected to make a full recovery.[97] Nearly a month after his spinal stroke, Luger was still in a quadriplegic state, having no movement in either his arms or legs. As of June 2008, Luger was said to be able to stand on his own for short periods of time and walk using a walker.

Pretty sure that's how he lost all his muscle weight - also post-depression after s.o. Miss Elizabeth (Macho's Ex-wife) died from an OD.

People get old, it sucks but its a fact of life. Also, stopping MASSIVE amounts of steroids isn't gonna make you look any better.

Yeah, but he's probably 15 or 20 years older.

Seeing some of these guys from my childhood grow old sucks.

Those dude lead hard lives, voluntarily.

I remember watching the UW's promo right before he died. He looked like standing up was a chore for him.

Superfly is probably 80-90, as he was old when he was a star in the late 70s.

What's more disturbing is seeing the health problems that a lot of the guys from the 80s had.

The death list from health issues alone from the 80s WWF alone is Big Bossman, Macho Man Randy Savage, British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith, Hercules, Mr. Perfect, Rick Rude, etc.

That's not even going into guys like Bret Hart, who had a stroke, or guys like JYD and Owen Hart who died in accidents.

Damn, didn't know JYD died driving home from his daughter's graduation. Also didn't know this about his daughter:
quote:

His daughter, LaToya Ritter, died on October 19, 2011. While talking on the phone to a friend, there was a loud thumping sound and the friend called family members to go check on her because she thought LaToya fell down the stairs. Her brother went to check only to find her unresponsive and called 9-1-1. Paramedics were unable to revive her. She was 31 years old.

That sucks.

as a huge wrestling fan as a child, nothing saddens me more than seeing my old heroes look so frail and/or dead
