Is this legal? Can teams call and setup trades days/weeks before the draft? Im sure it goes on in some capacity, just didnt know if this was policed or not.

I don't think it's legal, but I'm sure it happens often

Hint: we've already acquired a pick from another team this year.

100% legal for teams to set up trade parameters and make deals right now. Teams talk about what ifs with each other all the time.

No, no, no. I mean like the saints wanting to move up into the early 20s or teens and calling teams today to work out a possible trade up senario.

Loomis: "So what if your guy isn't there and we have a guy, so would you be interested in playing hookie in such scenarios?"

Anything else you'd like to clear up while you've brought your stupidity to light for the board to see?

You can trade draft picks whenever you want.

The reason the trades don't go down until the draft is because teams want to see how things play out before committing to one course of action.

Say us and GB swap firsts before the draft. We were moving up to take Cooks and GB thought there was no chance Mosley would fall to them.

Come draft day, Cooks still goes before us and Mosley would have still been at GB's original pick.

That's why picks aren't traded straight up ahead of time.

Now if we are talking players and picks that happens all the time before, during, and after the draft. I believe we swapped picks(our 6th for theirs or something?) and players with Miami in the Bush deal.

That and you're looking for a better offer up until you HAVE to make the move.
