I know there is another thread on this but I would love to hear his final out call when he did not realize that was the final out of the game. Sounds like another Jack Hunt classic and he was caught off guard. LOfrickinL.

He makes the same call at the end of probably half the games. If you want to hear it, the geauxzone puts the replays up later today.

I just went back and listened to it from the geauxzone by pressing the "go back 10 seconds" button like 100 times lol.

The last play was a fly out so it was very anti-climatic as is. He did say "and that retires the side" but followed that up with what happened that inning and the final score.

It didn't cause any confusion and what he said was not incorrect.

Oh and . Baseball is on a roll!

He didn't jump up and scream, "THAT"S THE GAME" OMG!! LSU WON! OMG!!!"

Is that what you want?

It was pretty bad today. You'd think after the last out he'd say "and that will do it, Tigers hang on to win 9-4" or something along those lines.

But it sounded like any ordinary middle of the inning call. "And that retires the side, on the inning there were 0 runs on 2 hits and ..." and seemed like he realized the game was over just before he said "as we move on to the bottom of the ninth."

some people don't understand sports enough not to have a feel for the game. When the announcer doesn't let them know that after 8 1/2 innings with the home team ahead, that the game is over, they they think there may be some sort of encore or something, and depend to the radio announcer to let them know the game has ended. When he doesn't do this right away they feel they've been duped in some way. This is what kind of dimwits we have as supposed fans. I just laugh at this same thread now for what? 29 games, and look forward for the one following game 30.

"It is 0 and 2, and the crowd sending out encouragement to Broussard to end it right here. The stare in to Chinea. Broussard into the stretch, here's the 0-2. Fly ball to centerfield. Stevenson draws a bead on it, slaps his glove on his hip and makes the catch. And that retires the side, and in the inning: no runs, on two hits, no errors and two left. And the final score, the Tigers win it 9-4, and LSU wins the series. That is their fourth consecutive SEC series win."
