I think they were taking crazy pills when they predicted 3 teams from the West going 12-4 though

Gonna make a bold prediction.

14-2, loss to Carolina and Green Bay.

I have no basis for my prediction other than "I can".

That part got me looking. Only 2 teams with fewer than 7 wins. 290-222 overall record for the NFL. I'm no mathematician, but shouldn't it be 256-256, POSSIBLY with a couple of ties in place of a W/L? Basically, shouldn't the wins and losses even out?

Guess that's what happens when you have a different person predict each team's record.

Edit:

NFL Nation reporters predict the regular-season record for the team they cover. Each prediction was made independent of the predictions of their colleagues.

What a horrible way to predict the season. You suck ESPN. I feel ashamed for posting this nonsense

I think that's the basis for everyone's predictions

Same 14-2, 1st seed, but we lose to chicago and pittsburg or carolina.

I'm thinking 12-4/11-5. I have @ Tampa as a toss up. That game seems to be closer than it should be every year so no telling. Maybe we drop it this year

It happens every year with these "experts". They pump up anyone that was borderline saying they should improve, pump up any team they think did great in FA, and rarely predict any playoff team from last year falling down.

That's how you get all these .500+ teams with so few basement dwellers. They don't want to lose the fans of last year's marginal and good teams.

Last year I predicted Atlanta and Baltimore's downfall and this year I'm doing the same with Carolina and I'll throw in the Bengals and Philly falling out of the playoffs. I'll also be "bold" and say the Seahawks only get 10 wins this year.

Idk about the Hawks, they're well built. My hopes would be that the offense takes a nice step back.

This seems fair to me. It's an unfortunate fact that we have a history of losing a game to a team we never should've lost to, so this analysis is correct.

SEA and SF are legit. ARI? Also legit. Maybe not 12-4, but that's a good team there. I can see them finishing 10-6, so this prediction isn't as crazy as you state.

I wanted to say 12-4. But the Saints always lose one or two they shouldn't and the division is tougher now. They need to take advantage of early road games and stay dominant at home. -- Mike Triplett

Damnit you Triplett. You make sense.

my non-saints bold prediction though..

13-3 for Green Bay. Rodgers tears it up this year barring no injury and DEMOLISHES Seattle week 1 42-21

ETA: 3 10-6 teams in the AFC north, no wai.

I see us going 8-0 at home. So I'm thinking 13-3 or 12-4. That last game @Tampa might not mean anything.

Every team in the NFC is 500 or above except the Redskins 1 game under 500 hundred, the AFC must really suck. Conference 43 games above 500

But the AFC is 23 games above 500! Who is taking all of these losses

Yea this guy is stupid. How can you make predictions independent of others? There are 256 games in the NFL season, which means there are 256 losses. This guy predicted 222 losses. Lazy.

Oh, I totally agree. All three could be very good teams. My point being, when was the last time you saw 3 teams in the SAME DIVISION win 12 games? That's a bit excessive. I could easily see all three having double-digit win season, though.
