How are Bundy's statements on negroes related to the ranch standoff with BLM?

Bundy's case should not be judged based on his statements about blacks.
It should be based on the facts of the case. His statements about blacks are completely unrelated.
I think Bundy had a weak legal case with not much ground to stand on, and a decent case against government overreach/disproportionate use of force.
His statements about blacks should not dictate the outcome of whether or not he is right or wrong. The facts of the case of his ranch and legal standing should. We can't just judge him based on unrelated statements.
Race hustlers today are saying "Oh he said some comments that might be racist, so he is wrong about everything now and has no credibility, and so do his supporters". That is not true. By that logic the Constitution is completely wrong and flawed and needs to be thrown out because it was signed by slave holders.

Your point on the slave holders is well taken. But you must admit he makes his political followers look silly with the racism. Cut off his own nose.

Many libertarians and gun rights supporters defended Bundy. Painting him as a racist allows the media to paint all of his supporters (or even those who just thought the government's response to his delinquency was out of line) with the same brush. Now, anyone who supports guns is automatically racist by association.

There are many libs/progressives who actually believe this.

Disagree.
Times, thoughts, concepts, mores, change over time.
I don't get offended. But, I certainly understand the difference in a thought held today vs one held 200+ years ago

Jessie Jackson - Hymie town.
The SCOTUS ruled in 1845 in Pollard that once a state becomes a sovereign state and is granted statehood, the feds can't treat it as a territory anymore and losses all rights over the land.

They aren't. This is just what liberals do when they can't win an argument. They change the argument.

The same way Trayvon's school records were related to Zimmerman's right to kill him.

Well, the media had initially portrayed him as an innocent, 10 year-old boy when his high school records revealed that he wasn't. It made Zimmerman's belief that he was being threatened more credible.

What on earth did Trayvon's school records have to do with the fact that he jumped a neighborhood watchman in the dark while looking in the windows of other people's houses?

Exactly

The fact is that once his racist statements came out less people will be ready to jump on the bandwagon. His credibility is shot. Main stream will lump him with other racist fo0olfs and not give his case any credence.

Bundy's ramblings are really disgusting:
quote:
And because they were basically on government subsidy, so now what do they do?” he asked. “They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton. And I’ve often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things...
What an idiot. And yes the press will try to change the subject to his views of the "negro", but any person that has drawn the spotlight to himself and announces weekly press conferences such as he's done should expect as much.

They aren't. What we are seeing is the effect of overnight fame. He won against the BLM (more or less) and now he things that since he had such a spotlight on one subject that everyone is still dying to know his thoughts on other subjects.
Attention whore is whorish.

There is no argument. He was illegally grazing his cows.
Conservatives use character assassination just as much as liberals. Don't be ignorant.
Back to the OP:
His comments have zip to do with his standing on this issue. This issue isn't based on character. His comments and those of his milita do paint them as dumbasses though, and somone not wrth championing.

The only thing that should matter is the merits of this particular case. I haven't even heard what he said, btw. Shame that the media is getting this guy way more thoroughly than they ever looked at Barack Obama. TRUTH.
Besides, didn't Bundy's cousin once score 4 touchdowns for Polk High? Cut him some slack.
