Why aren't there any young action stars anymore?

And by young, I mean in their 40s or younger, which is ridiculous that it's that high. Seriously, there isn't an action star under 50 these days. Arnold, Sly, Bruce, Norris, etc, are all old fricks. In fact I'd say debatably the biggest newcomer is Liam Neeson. Seriously, all these guys are at least as old as Batman was in "The Dark Knight Returns". They should all be able to get their asses kicked by younger professionals in their 20s and 30s.
So, what happened? The only one who may come close that's in their 20s in Channing Tatum, which is a pretty sad example compared to what we had in the 80s. What changed in our culture to make all of our badasses old men?

Superhero movies have taken over the action genre. There aren't as many 80s style action movies anymore.

Ok, thought of him, but he's still well into his 40s, and he emerged as an action star about 15 years ago.

The Rock, Jason Statham, Clive Owen(to an extent).
Really liked Karl Urban in Red and Dredd.

I doubt anyone thinks Tobey McGuire or Chris Evans as an action star first.

Was about to say these two. Chris Evans (Captain America) too.

And never underestimate old man strength either. I've seen it before.

I would definitely consider Chris Evans.

Because Bryan Singer doesn't like them that old.

Honestly Chris Hemsworth was the only one I debated as maybe being an action hero from our generation. Chris Pine... They're trying, but no, not an action star.
