I had this dude do some good work on both my wife's and my car on some minor stuff. Well my timing belt goes bad and I ruined my engine in my 2006 Caddy SRX. I asked the dude when we were in last time what couldn't he handle at his shop. He told me the only thing he didn't do was body work. And ice storm, three different replacement engines later, his home being burglarized, a custody battle for daughter and his other daughter having open heart surgery and further complications I am almost ready to pick the damn thing up any day now... After almost 3 months!!!

I feel like an idiot.

I took my car to have the engine replaced. The first engine was damaged while unloading it. It took a while to get a 2nd engine. The 2nd engine had sand inside the engine. We are now on our 3rd engine. In the mean time we had a major snow storm and ice storm at the end of January which pushed back the initial time frame because his shop was closed for a week. He then had a custody battle with his ex-wife for one daughter. Between engines his other daughter had to have open heart surgery in Jackson MS. She has had complications. Mean while he runs his regular shop and I am not the only repair job he is working on. Each time an engine goes bad or he has to make a trip to Jackson my car got pulled. He is the only one doing work on my car not his employees. I am having to wait because of his personal life. I understand but it sucks.

Scared shittless cause I have not picked up the car yet. I paid 1500 for an engine and was going to give him 500 to put it in, but I am not sure what the final bill is going to be. He has been appologetic the whole time. I am sure he is going to cut me break. The engine problems were not his fault. I started off paying for a used engine but the company upgrade me to a new engine after our two mishaps.

Y'all make it down to the coast often? Anywhere, public land possibly, just south of you to ride an ATV?

I left mine behind about a year-and-a-half ago, and let it sit needing a new battery for almost 4 months. I just got it fixed last weekend.

That is the thing... at this point he has already pulled my engine, replaced it and putting parts back on it. Plus with his daughter having heart surgery, I felt it was only the right thing to do. I wish I never took it to him but I am so deep that I figured it is best to ride it out...

It sounds like he has a bunch of new bills to pay. I think the 2k estimate went bye bye.

He fed you a line of shite about not getting your car ready in timely fashion and you swallowed it hook, line and sinker.

My truck has been in the shop for literally 1 month over two years if you add up all if the time. I've only owned it for 3.5yrs. Can't sell it because the fricker just keeps breaking.

Longest it was in the shop without leaving was 9 months. Original engine was blown, and went through 4 others that were bad when they got to the shop. Bad turbos, fuel pumps, injectors, etc. You name it, and it has been broken

Currently in the shop for a cracked block because the reman heads I got were cracked and let a bunch of coolant get into it. Cracked heads took a few hours to diagnose, 2 weeks for new ones to get shipped, and a few hours to replace. Engine is out, and I have been waiting 1.5wks to get a new long block in

I have been by there several times and his dad works in the shop. Every time he has had an issue come up he has had a mechanic in the shop call me. While in Jackson with his daughter he has his mechanic call me. Dude if that were my daughter I would not give two freaks about some dudes care I was supposed to be working on. Small town people are the best!
