Anybody hunt crane?

Wouldn't flying filet mignon be more accurate than ribeye of the sky?

They get into our corn feeders for about 2 weeks every year and we shoot them then. They are massive and delicious and scare the crap out of the deer.

May want to edit this again bro. That's kinda against the law and would not want you getting a visit from Greenjeans.

We do a crane hunt or 2 down near Wharton. Fun to hunt legally too and the meat is awesome.

In certain areas and during season dates and not at a corn feeder.

I never said we shot them out of the feeders or out of the season, but I'm really not worried about it. Our neighbor is 95 and has more money now than she could ever spend. She is currently trying to kill every blue heron she can because they eat her goldfish that keep her troughs clean. Wardens have enough to worry about down there with all the oilfield trash around than messing with actual land owners.

I killed a Great Blue Heron last week and just left it there.

It was by the Chef/510 exit and he failed to merge properly. I did not know those wading birds were a delicacy.

You mentioned feeders which really shouldn't be in the same thread as shooting migratory birds but it sounds like you give zero fricks so disregard my previous posts.

So she basically has about 1 years worth of money? Maybe less?

I have no clue how much she is worth, but she currently has 8 producing wells on her property in the heart of the Eagle Ford and they are in the process of drilling 2 more. She has a shite load of money and gives zero fricks about what the law says she can and cant do on her property is what I was getting at. Which is a common sentiment among the locals down there.

There by making it okay for you to illegally hunt migratory birds on a known path to a corn feeder.

Makes sense to me.

Money is important in Tejas but that's a federal matter & they give zero fricks also.

We have accumulated a pretty sizeable herd of those Sandhills around my house over the last 10-12 years. This past year we probably had upwards to 1,000 within a 6 mile radius of my house. I wish you could shoot one every now and then if you catch on off by itself and eat it. Can't though on account of it's illegal.
