Stupid pathetic fricking Braves can't even score one freaking run.

Kind of wondering why we aren't batting Schafer second? I mean, we all know that Simmons does better towards the bottom of the lineup. Schafer has great speed, and could really benefit from batting ahead of Freeman. I know Schafer isn't a GREAT hitter, but I think he'd be more consistant than Simmons in the two hole.

I actually agree with you. Jordan second makes me have the warm fuzzies. I do not get them with Simmons second.

The obvious answer is that Fredi reads this board and realizes we need something to bitch about...so he does weird shite to make sure we have something to bitch about.

Here's a "fun fact" from ESPN so they can shite on the Braves:
Starters whose fastballs have averaged at least 95 mph in starts against the Braves over the past two seasons have a 2.39 ERA and 10.4 K/9 in those starts (12 in total by nine different pitchers), including two by Wednesday's opponent Nate Eovaldi. Eovaldi's average fastball velocity over the past two seasons is 96.1 mph.

frick a day game, and frick a Fish.

Barves should win this game today. Marlins can't win two games in a row especially coming off a Fernandez win.

we should win, but I would imagine the loss last night was pretty demoralizing. To have Wood pitch such a gem, and to lose 1-0 while striking out 28 times as a team must make everyone feel like shite.
ETA: Maybe I am stupid, and I wasn't watching the whole game last night but how can a team strike out 28 times in one game? I understand we can have drop 3rd strikes, etc. But are you telling me that if the Braves got out last night it was a strikeout. There were no groundball outs, no flyouts, etc.? Or is that just a typo?
ETA 2: Thanks for the clarification

Eovaldi is good but I just can't see the Marlins getting many runs unless Stanton has a big game.

I think the stat was 28 combined strikeouts between BOTH teams. I know Wood had 11. Fernandez had 14. Bullpen accounting for the last 3.

That makes much more sense. So neither team issued a walk yesterday? That's pretty damn increidble. I reckon that's why it hasn't been done since 1900.

Just be glad nobody has to face Fernandez in game 1 of the NL postseason.

Hopefully a day off gets J-Up out of this funk.
On pace for 251 K's

IDK bout that...I'd rather have Simmons there because you KNOW it won't be a wasted out. Simmons puts the ball in play every time. So if by some miracle Heyward gets on, Simmons can at least get him over and he has great power. Schafer has been hitting well but not sure if he would be better than Simba over the same sample size.

At least Schafer knows how to bunt I don't think Simmons has great power. Hell, i still feel that he is very raw in the hitting department. However, I do see your point about Simmons constantly making contact. I reckon we will find out one way or another today.
