Your Reaction if We Draft a Kicker?

I think like most fans we are hoping to leave the draft with a CB, WR, and a Center.

However, what if the Saints spent a pick during rounds 5-7 to grab a kicker they were high on. Would you support?

I think my reaction would be similar to when we drafted Morestead in the 5th. I said this guy had better be a pro bowler. He is....so good pick.

I would only be ok with it if we committed to one of the elite ones in the first round. If we're going to do it, let's do it big.

Perfectly fine. People moaned when we took Morestead and look how that turned out.

I thought you were referring to the 1st round before I read. that was gonna be bad. lool

5-7th I'd be fine with it.

Usually those are flyer picks anyway and most 5-7 don't really pan anything more than special teams.

Give me a kicker I won't close my eyes for on a <30yard fieldgoal, I'll be very happy

People joke, but having a good kicker is extremely important. Nothing wrong with spending a late round pick on a kicker. Just hope he actually works out, unlike Taylor Mehlhaff.

Pats drafted Gostkowski in the 4th and he's worked out.

In all honesty I think the production that we have or can get from a free agent makes using a pick on one not worth it. A rookie kicker is just as much of a question mark as a semi aged veteran.

As long as it's not Taylor Mehlhaff I'm good with it

you wouldn't want a blair walsh (6th round) or Greg Zuerlein (6th round) over what we have right now?

Sure but it's still not 100% that they will turn out that good. I'd rather pick a guy that could be a "diamond in the ruff" with our 6th and 7th round pick

If only every kicker turned into Blair Walsh.

I'd rather get one cheap in FA, but I wouldn't be mad with a 6th-7th round kicker. And unless there's a 90% he will be great I wouldn't take one before that.

Would you rather Stills or a good kicker?

If the staff is high on a Kicker in the later rounds, why not? Obviously that has been one of our weaker positions over the years and Graham isn't a long term answer.

Any "Legatron" prospects?

For us? Say Blair Walsh or Kenny Stills?

A kicker.

In years past, how many times did emo choke job mess us up? I believe 3-4 games.

We have a knack to find weapons/offensive players, but we are absolute shitty in the kicker department.

Every pick is a crap shoot. Who knew Stills would blow up and Toon would be a bust?

If the brain trust says do it, I won't kick.
