Is there anything you can give a dog to help him pass a bone? My dog ate a porkchop bone and now he just wants to sit outside and squat like he has to take a deuce bunt can't. I'm getting a little worried... Is this gonna be a vet visit and a bunch of money?

Time for a little manual labor. Get some gloves, walk the dinosaur.

Watch to see if he poops. If he does, check for parts of bones or any blood. You see blood, head to a vet.

Possibility it could get hung up but unlikely. They can crush them usually with just a couple of bites. Remember, they are made to eat that stuff.

They're made to eat RAW bones. Cooked bones splinter and puncture bowels.

They can handle them good too. I meant as far as breaking them down.

It CAN happen but rare compared to the number of dogs that eat them with no problems. All of our dogs growing up (and we had a lot) were raised on scraps and they ate cooked bones every night with no problems.

Call your vet and ask if you can pick up a tube of laxair. its a flavored laxative/lubricant that will help the dog pass it. after feeding it to the dog you may want to leave him outside.

if it hasnt passed by thursday i would make an appointment for friday. you dont want to pay for an emergency surgery over the weekend.
