Eastern Fence Lizards are found all over Alabama but usually have a blue beard (and even sometimes and entire blue belly) even the majority of females.

The dreaded tiger skink. One bite is certain and unavoidable death.

It had a blue beard but it turned an odd shade of gray when one of the guys tried picking it up.

Thing was about 6-7 inches long. I had never seen one before honestly.

Seems like Eastern Fence Lizard is what it is. The pack of wood I found it in came from Mississippi and that fits the region for the specie.

Thanks man, honestly never heard of nor seen one before. Only lizards I know of are those really small ones I'll find in the yard during the summer and the occasional lot lizard you'll see at a truck stop.
