A Letter from Joe Alleva

quote:

Finally, we’re less than five months away from the start of football season and the opening of the fantastic South End Zone expansion in Tiger Stadium. Those of you who joined us for the Spring Game on April 5 got a first-hand look at the project, which will raise Death Valley’s capacity to over 100,000! The expansion will enhance the aesthetics of Tiger Stadium and its standing as the nation’s most intimidating presence for opposing teams.

So now there will be 70,000 empty seats in the second half?

I kid, I kid...Tiger Stadium will be deafening to opponents next season.

I would imagine that would include standing room only as well. Will be interesting to see what the final numbers actually are...and what gameday capacity will actually be.

I think it is gonna make the place look pretty damn intimidating. God I can't wait to play Bama at home with 105000 fans cheering that are wasted and won't leave at halftime.

We don't need 100k fans to beat West Mississippi Valley State college Fwiw but I guess that joke runs forever

LSU senior associate athletic director Eddie Nunez said the twin video boards will go up later this spring and that the construction won't hamper the LSU spring game on April 5 nor the Bayou Country Superfest May 23-25.

"All indications are we will be right at the 100,000 mark, up to about 101,000," Nunez said.

Well, one reason that upper deck may never look empty is LSU is FINALLY shipping all the damn away fans out of the premium lower bowl seats.

For games like Alabama and South Carolina in 2012

Step 1: Stay the entire game
Step 2: Walk to your tailgate
Step 3: Drink a few beers
Step 4: Leave
Step 5: Make it to Lafayette in an hour
