Anyone else think that there are too many story lines and too much information to really move the plot along in just an hour-long slot?

This didn't seem to be much of a problem the first 2 seasons, but as the story developed and characters were added and separated from each other, the writers are forced to ignore story lines for episodes at a time and what they do cover only moves forward a step or two (or not at all) before it cuts to the next one.

I'm still enjoying it. And it's a great show. But I was wondering if anyone else noticed this or had the same view.

They do have so many storylines going now, that they can't touch on them all in each episode...they have to remind us about some things in the "previously on GoT" at the beginning.

You forgot about showing some woods scenes and a shot of a direwolf.

If the storylines are starting to get to be confusing to you in S3, then I recommend reading the books. FWIW S3 was awesome.

I'm not getting confused. And I'm enjoying the heck out of the show. I'm basically wondering if anyone notices how little seems to be happening with each storyline in each episode now that there are so many of them. Could you see HBO lengthening the show to 1.5 hours ever?

Without getting in to overt spoiler territory, and I really hope this doesn't cross the line, but books 4 and 5 have a LOT of viewpoint characters, so it could get more fractured. Or they could condense.

They will definitely condense it. Most of those books are internal monologue characters anyway with a good chunk of one characters story already being played out.

The writers have done well so far. Curious to see how well they continue to condense it since it gets even more fractured.

Not really. I can see it being an issue for non-book readers which is one of the reasons I chose to read the books.

Did you finish them? I'm halfway through book 4.

Yep, just finished A Dance with Dragons a few months ago. Honestly, since you've read book 3 with is what this season is based on, I'm surprised you are concerned with the pacing. I re-read book 3 specifically so I would be better prepared for season 3 of GoT.

I dont. I think it means there just arent any dull parts of the show. I love that there is so much shite going on

I'm reading them. My wife only read the first one. We both noticed that nothing seemed to happen in the first episode this season (probably just getting people re-acclimated) . Maybe I haven't paid enough attention with the news on the future of the show, but do they plan to break every book down into two seasons?
