The Official Comic Book Hero Tournament Finals (Thor vs. Flash) Vote Now!
Posted on 4/14/14 at 8:10 am
Posted on 4/14/14 at 8:10 am
The Rules:
1.) This is a two sided bracket. Each side contains 64 comic characters.
2.) The left side of the bracket will be Heroes the right side of the bracket will be villains.
3.) Each bracket will be comprised of 26 Marvel characters, 26 DC characters, and 12 misc comic/novel characters.
4.) Once all of the characters have been selected, the names will be entered into a random generator and spit out 1-64. The match-ups will be set regular seed style (1 vs. 64, 2 vs. 63, etc.) Please note that the number does not represent their seed, but instead the number they drew.
*** Do not be surprised to see Cyclops vs. Rick Grimes in Round I
5.) The voting system will be a simple check mark system. You will simply select the name of the character you think would win each match-up. I will go off of the general consensus. If there is an instance where the voting for a particular match-up is close, I will open the floor for members to make their case for who should move on. I will have the final say in such situations, but I promise to be as fair and impartial as I can.
6.) All voters are asked to put bias to the side. We must assume that these match-ups are completely random (As if it is the first time each character has encountered the other character.) Hopefully this will cut down on some of the knighting... cough Batman cough...
***So it would probably be safe to say that Batman would not be walking around with the Muramasa Sword.
***In the case where you have characters who cannot be killed by normal means (Wolverine, Deadpool, Thor) then a knockout or incapacitation will count
-Hulk Vs. Thor (whoever could knock the other one out first or incapacitate)
-Wolverine Vs. Deadpool (Same)
-These are just general examples
7.) Each character will be considered to be at their peak with no additional augmentation.
***Example: Cable w/ his technorganic virus under control, or cyclops w/ full control of his optic blast. No Nova with the Worldmind & Full Nova Force or Doom with The Beyonder's powers.
8.) No God Tier Characters

Thor
He's probably the greatest comic book warrior that's ever lived. He isn't from Earth so none of Flash's time travel shenanigan's can work. He can destroy whatever planet they are fighting on and live. He's got way too many tools for Flash.
And if we give Flash full control of the Speedforce, then Thor gets full control of the Odinforce, now Thorforce, and well, that's just ridiculous.
Thor wins, and he's worthy of it.

I want to pick Flash but I can't. Thor

As much as I enjoy the Flash, I just can't see him representing us as our go-to balls-to-the wall, we're-in-big-fricking-trouble superhero.
That's Thor's job.
Lightning and hammering and shite.

About the only trick Barry might have would be to vibrate his hand through Thor then slow down just enough to knock him out.
Thor is a warrior with thousands of years of experience and has access to an incredible pool of power (and that's not even counting what he can do with Mjolnir). All it would take is one smack of the hammer, bolt of enchanted lightning or just raw Thorforce and we end up with this:

Thor. Flash gets hammered.

Flash.
If we are going AS THEY ARE WRITTEN...this is a no brainer.
Flash can travel across dimensions meaning he can follow Thor anywhere instantly.
He heals and regenerates extremely fast.
He is immune to telepathy.
In a short fight like this, he can learn all things, basically, at speeds over the speed of light, knowing all of Thor's weaknesses instantly.
Flash can travel through time instantly, meaning he can go to anytime and screw with Thor's past.
Flash can travel through ANYTHING making it explode, including Thor. Thor's mind couldn't track Flash when the Flash is going full throttle....boom Thor's dead.
Flash can travel faster than the speed of thought...before Thor could develop a game plan...
Flash has complete control of every molecule in his body. Every part of him, his mind, body, etc goes TEN TIMES THE SPEED OF LIGHT. All close races with Superman, according to the comics, were for "charity".
If pushed, not only does Barry Allen tap into the speed force, he BECOMES the speed force itself. He becomes the "strongest being in existence" capable of destroying the universe.
At that point, he is unbeatable. As written, Flash was always going to walk away with this tourney.
But, alas, I fully expect this vote to be a popularity contest along the lines of the Silver surfer losing to the Hulk.

I thought it was already established that Flash could get to the opponent, vibrate his hand throught their chest/head, and kill them before the opponent could even get a thought off, is that not the case? Because is that isn't the case, then he shouldn't have made it nowhere near this far. So if so, Thor wouldn't be able to do anything before Flash had his hand in Thor's chest.
I hate that we accepted that, because if most of Flash's comics, he isn't shown to do that. But since that has been the accepted argument, then I have to go with Flash.

It was established. And I warned everyone before the tourney Flash was this strong. But he's getting the "I hate the way he is OP so I'll vote him to lose" treatment.
Somewhere along the way we accepted the further into the tourney we go, the stronger we can easily argue the characters.
This is the championships and so I can easily say the strongest version of the Flash >>>>>>>>>>>>> the strongest Thor
