7. 30,000-YEARS-OLD GIANT VIRUS
Luckily for us, this virus infected amoebae, not people. The virus was likewise tremendous, practically the scope of a bacterium. A lot more puzzling, the virus harmed the host in a style distinct from most viruses, plus it was largely empty, despite its giant size. This Really Is unusual, since viruses usually carry just as much genetic material in as little a space as you can.
6. THE ROMAN ARTIFACTS
The Schnidejoch pass is a path during the Alpine Mountains of Europe. The path–linking two Alpine valleys–has been put to use for hundreds of years by voyagers passing from Italy to the north. They’ve left behind thousands of years of waste, because this pass has been used by people for so long. This waste, due to the melting glaciers close to the Schnidejoch, is currently turning into priceless scientific artifacts from antiquity.
5.VIKING HUNTING GEAR
Artifacts are being discovered as bodies of ice melt down and retreat around the world. In Juvfonna, Norway, scientists have discovered hunting supplies generated from reindeer they consider was used by Vikings. The artifacts are being found trashing the edge of the melting Juvfonna ice field.
4 .IRON AGE HORSE
The Lendbreen glacier near Lillehammer, Norway has produced many amazing discoveries of well-preserved archaeological artifacts. Previously, scientists had discovered well-preserved horse manure at high altitudes, where usually they would only find well-preserved reindeer poop. They had also found 1,000-year-old horseshoes. The scientists reasoned that where there is horse poop and horseshoes there must have been horses.
3. COOL ANCIENT FORESTS
About 2,000 years past, the Mendenhall Glacier slowly approached a hemlock and spruce woods in what’s now Juneau, Alaska. Forward of the glacier came glacial melt–ice water shoving short ton of gravel. The trees were slowly engulfed by the gravel, snapping off branches but leaving the trees themselves standing and rooted to the bottom.
2.IRON AGE TUNIC
Maybe you have taken off your jacket in a movie theater, laid it to the seat next to you, and left it behind? Sometime around A.D. 300, at the Lendbreen glacier in Norway, somebody took off their kyrtel (a kind of tunic), laid it down, and left it. At least that’s what scientists think happened, even though it makes no sense for a person to leave behind their variant of a parka in this cold location.
1.THEODUL PASS MAN
Most of us have learnt of Otzi, the surprisingly well preserved Copper Age guy, who lived sometime between 3500-3100 B.C. More than 20 years afterwards the 1991 discovery of the historical guy, thousands of feet up in the Alpine Mountains, along with the puzzle of who he was and how he lived and died is still being studied by scientists. Less well known, nevertheless, is the 16th century guy called “Theodul Pass Man.” Although not almost as early as Otzi, Theodul Pass Guy has his own enigmatic and fascinating story to tell.

The withdrawing ice is exposing long-hidden things–many with priceless historical value–that have now been well preserved by the ice for decades, or perhaps thousands of years.
But after these things so are subjected to the elements and are released from their icy graves, they quickly disintegrate and vanish. Archaeologists and scientists around the globe are rushing against time to locate these appearing artifacts before they’re lost

How can it be because of global warming if global warming isn't real?
Posted on 4/13/14 at 4:28 pm to hawgfaninc
But we're all going to die if it gets that warm
Posted on 4/13/14 at 4:38 pm to hawgfaninc
This is what we call a "hollow victory"
Posted on 4/13/14 at 4:39 pm to hawgfaninc
So global warming is suppose to be a good thing? I'm so confused
Posted on 4/13/14 at 4:45 pm to hawgfaninc
Global warming is a myth created by Toyota in order to boost sales of their hybrid vehicles.

Nooo the water level is too high

I'm not into the whole global warming debate and this will be my only post about this but... If stuff is being found where ice has melted wouldn't that mean that when this stuff was left in these places there was no ice at that time?
So there was no ice, then there was ice, now there is no ice again.
So it's cyclical, just as I thought. Thanks for the reaffirmation.

It must have been pretty warm back then. People left all of those things behind to get covered in ice by the great man made global cooling.

I hope some well preserved dinosaurs are found under ice. With DNA intact to clone.

All due to my expedition, you're welcome.

This is why I strive every day to increase my carbon footprint.

All this happened with .3 c rise in temps?

I was thinking the same thing. You mean the earth's climate has cycles??????

Global warming is happening. The causes are up for debate and the extent of it has been overrated. But it is happening. The thing with global warming is that it's affects are not felt for years after the emissions happen. We haven't experienced the effects of today's global warming. We're experiencing the effects of yesterday's global warming.
Its kind of a moot point though because we have the technology to warm or cool the planet if we want. I listened to a podcast recently and it was talking about the coming debates of this technology because some countries will desire a warmer climate and some countries will desire a cooler climate and there's nothing stopping a country from doing just that.

So I guess we gotta pay taxes on these new finds
