We should be giving Ukraine guns and weapons right now.

They'd be captured in a month in the boxes, still unloaded.

We are very fortunate as a nation that McCain lost to Obama in 2008.

That has to be the ultimate, damned if you do damned if you don't scenario.

I agree. Progressives are destructive to this country. Progressives on the right swing the country to the left and make it possible for virtually unknown radicals to take power. After a McCain presidency, anyone could have become president from the left.
Luckily, after 8 years of Obama, the reverse is true. We'll likely get a Ted Cruz or Rand Paul in '16 and they can start rebuilding the nation.

We would have been fricked in a different orifice, but still fricked.

Clearly we weren't given much of a choice in 2008. Still, as much as I dislike McCain, I would take him and his three aging clones over the lying incompetent currently in the WH.

BullF'nShit.
There is nothing worse than the blight visited upon the nation as a result of the community organizer bring all his Chicago-style politics to the WH.
McCain is the worst GOP candidate of my lifetime - but he is head and shoulders above Obama and a McCain victory would certainly have undone the unholy DEM control of congress that jammed Obamacare down the throats of a disapproving public.

To think the "establishment republicans" still think most conservatives want another war.
Paul is the only one talking rationally about our foreign policy.
We are nothing to gain as world policemen anymore.

Besides the Affordable Care Act not currently existing, we would not have had the wasteful Stimulus Bill nor would Sonia Sotomayor or Elena Kagan be sitting on the Supreme Court right now.
I share the strong disapproval of McCain with just about everyone on this board, though I do give him credit for being one of the very few Republicans in the Senate who has remained tenacious and consistent in pursuing the Benghazi investigation. That does not make up for his many major shortcomings, but it does show that almost everyone has at least one redeeming value.
