I’ve called Mark Ingram underrated before and the 2013 season just adds fuel to the fire. He’s fairly productive despite playing at a major disadvantage. Only Morris saw more Base defense than Ingram did last season. He averaged 4.9 YPC on 89 carries against Base, and 6.5 YPC on 17 totes against Nickel. Ingram now has an above average 4.3 career YPC against Base and an exceptional 5.2 YPC against Nickel. Ingram has faced a Dime defense only once in his career, but has 23 carries with fewer than four defensive backs on the field.

I'm telling you, as soon as this coaching staff finally ditched the notion that he was going to be a power back for us, was the day he finally could start really succeeding. I look forward to seeing his impact this year, which I expect to be pretty huge

Patrick enough with the statistics and formations bullshite. He sucks and is an immature lazy POS. And this has nothing to do with me being an LSU fan.

He selfishly spikes the ball after every decent run

Those are warning spikes. He's doing everyone a solid.

So this suggests that he's doing decent despite the defense knowing he'll run?

Interesting stuff. I don't understand how Peterson isn't first in percentage of carries against less than five DBs, but Gore I would have expected to be second (he's first). Ingram saw a higher percentage than him (Peterson).

And damn Gore did some fricking work against by far fewer DBs than anyone.

I did hear something interesting in relation to Ingram. They said that if you were to take away his good plays, the other ones are pretty bad.

That stuck with me. I immediately put down my laptop and went and kissed my boys as they were sleeping in their beds.

The whole 'inb4' thing isn't really funny or clever anymore

This. He was never a power back. He was a one cut, second level move making back.

Once we can get him involved in the passing game it will open up a bit more for him.. it's obvious what we're doing when he's in. He needs to work on his connection w/ Drew.

I expect that would be likely anyways because of Sproles being gone

He caught 2/3's of his passes last season.

Of course, that's an entirely too small sample (10 receptions).

You know, people talk all day about the Dallas game.
He had 14 runs that game, the second most all season for him.

The most was against Philly, when he ran for 5.4 ypc.
The third most was against Carolina (second ranked defense, I believe), when he ran for 6.4 ypc.

How do we explain?
