Why are the Masters only on TV for 4 hours tomorrow

I thought the Master as the biggest Golf Event of the year and you only get 4 hours of coverage on CBS. With an event that big, you'd think they would televise from the beginning. Coverage does not start till 2pm and 1st golfer tees off at 9:15 am. Just an observation.

Well, it's just the way it works.
When the guys in the last 4 groups go out, it'll be on live.

Augusta National restricts how much airtime CBS is allowed to have to not oversaturate the market.

Because they're bitches who think they're the greatest thing since sliced bread so you should be honored to even see 4 hours on Saturday.

They sure are ok with all the publicity and marketing the frick out of themselves.
But they only give 4 hrs of coverage because they don't want to act like they are so fricking prestigious and secret. Just let us watch

Coverage has actually increased over the years. Years ago, they wouldn't even show the front nine.
At least take comfort that when it is on, there are very few commercial breaks. Something like 55 minutes an hour of golf.
Completely different than that of NBCs coverage of the US Open, where I swear they take so many commercial breaks, some are in the middle of some players' backswings.

Though instead of watching actual golf you can watch the players warm up and 3hours of analysis on bubba Watsons swing.
