Jacksonville? Why? They're almost as bad as the Raiders are at developing talent.

So Brees is a 'system' QB ?

I hope Mett does slide to the early second so the Texans can take Mett 1st pick of the 2nd round. I do not see that big a difference between Bortles/JFF/Bridgewater and Mett/Carr/Garrapolo. Texans should take Clowney then Mett. Slam dunk picks.

I just don't see why anyone would concider drafting Manziel higher than the 4th round to begin with... I just don't see that circus act working well in the NFL at all. You can't always just run around and throw jump balls... He will be in Arena football in 5 years.

People said the same for Flutie - he did ok for himself…

The guys over on NFLN compared him to Drew Bledsoe.

Never thought of it but pretty spot on.

How did this thread get derailed into a Manziel discussion?

New owners that will be able to build around him.

I don't know if the vets in Houston will like his attitude. Specifically, Arian Foster.

mett is 6'5 with a big arm. that will attract a lot of pro guys. i see ALL the other qbs slipping and mett gaining steam. could be a battle for mett at the top of the 2nd round thus pushing mett late, late in first round. mett fits what o'brien (texans) want. vikings will have to jump into 1st round to get him.

I think the pairing with Sean Payton's philosophy was a good match for Brees. He wasn't slinging the ball around nearly as much in San Diego [Granted, the league was different back then]

As far as Mett goes, he needs to go to a situation with a veteran Oline and a good running game. The intriguing organization in all of this is Cleveland. Imagine if they draft Sammy Watkins in the 1st and get Mett in the 2nd or 3rd Rd. Watkins,Gordon,Hawkins,Cameron,Tate & Mett would be interesting.

I just don't see why anyone would concider drafting Manziel higher than the 4th round to begin with. Maybe it's because LSU dominated him twice, but I've never been impressed with him at all. The same. People want to go back to Wilson and talk about how he's doing it, but forget that Wilson was a better QB to begin with. He's not erratic and he doesn't just throw it up for grabs to his WRs
The majority of JF's WRs are 6'2+ so all he has to do is wait til one gets open and chunk it up.

Also had Wilson not been good at the 3RD ROUND PICK he was drafted at, how would Manziel be viewed? Seems like the success of others are getting guys drafted a lot higher than they should. Bortles is nowhere near first round material and Manziel isn't either. Bortles should pray to Kap and Newton for their success and Manziel should hold up a shrine to Wilson.

I agree he will struggle. Dude's that short not named Drew Brees struggle.

I bet Super Bowl champion Russell Wilson would disagree with you.

Evidently he's testing really well. I was never impressed with his arm and feel his passing game will limit him at the next level. He got away with a lot of stuff in college he will not in the NFL. Depends on the system. Guess you could say that for any QB though.

HUGE factor for Manziel imo. He will be awesome as a Kaepernik or Russ Wilson type situation.
