You're running a draft at the moment. You should't be starting other threads. Focus focus!!

Chris Johnson to the Saints?

Are we looking for anything else in FA?
Perhaps a C or WR is all I can think of

This may be a dumb question but, How is Graham's non deal figured into current cap space?

His franchise tag value is already counted against the cap.

so you're telling me. We got a pretty servicable backup/3rd safety for TWO years at 1.9mil a year because ain't no way he's making it to the pro bowl or getting a ton of interceptions.
TD is an idiot to think we wouldn't match that. LOL

How much Katrina money is left, since that doesn't count against the cap?

Seems right from the numbers yesterday. Between $3.5-4m is what I was getting.
And yeah That was a dumb arse contract the Falcons tried to pass off. Assuming an even split(which it may not be) he cost us $500k over his original tender.
Basically it cost us half a mil to match and keep a pretty good safety.

Thats what i'm guessing. Payton said he wanted to bring in competition for the position rather than penciling in Lelito.

I'm hoping he meant a FA(they did actually try to bring back DLP on the cheap) and not just draft pick. That seems too risky to have zero guys with an NFL snap at center heading into a season.

How'd they fail? He signed on the cheap with someone else

Goodwin would be cheaper and better honestly.

Situation and potential future earnings. They are basically giving him a guaranteed back up spot this year in Chicago with an extreme likely hood he'll be the starter next year with Garza gone.
We only offered him a chance to compete with no guaranteed spot if he lost being that we are extremely likely to draft a center. We obviously aren't sold on him as a starter and I think that may have also rubbed him the wrong way.
Basically, no one wanted him as a starter and if he missed out on the Bears opportunity he may have been out of the league this year or the next(if the Bears filled the spot through the draft).

But definitely agree Goodwin would be a better player.
