I've seen them before in BR. It's breathtaking.

They're not that rare. I've seen them while driving over the Atchafalaya basin a few times.

They seem to be more plentiful in Louisiana than most people know. You mentioned the bald eagle's nest on the south side of I-10 near 310. That nest was originally in a different tree that was destroyed during Isaac. They simply built another one about 100 feet away or so. There's also two nests right off Hwy 1 between Morganza and Batchelor.

They're not anywhere near as rare now as they once were in Arkansas, so it wouldn't surprise me if they're becoming more plentiful in Louisiana as well.

I always glance over in that direction to see if I see them when I drive through here.

I always look for them a little when I go by there. Once I saw the couple sitting in the branches right by their nest. It was quite a sight!

Saw one sitting in the middle of a field between Thibodaux and Raceland one time.

Saw one a couple months ago at The Bridges in Bay St. Louis

Saw a bunch last year at Toledo Bend

There seem to be a lot more now than when I was a kid.

Lots more around now. They have really recovered from DDT damage and are off the endangered species list.

They migrate down from Alaska around November and are heading back up there now for summer.

I have three cell tower sites here in south Georgia with Bald Eagle nests on them. None have been active in at least 4 years though. I also have roughly 15 towers with Osprey nests and a few with random Hawk nests on them.

I have a nesting couple of Bald Eagles across the road from my place in south Shreveport. Bird watchers are constantly parked along the road watching the damn nest.

It is cool to see one of them flying around though

There's a nest not too far from LSU on River Road. It's sort of across the road from Farr Park. The two that hatched this year already look fully grown. It's pretty cool to see them flying around.
