Anyone have any experience with Huntfield Kennels in Union Church MS? Thinking about getting a fox red lab from them. Wondering if y'all have any feedback.

no idea on the kennel. but "red fox" labs are beautiful colored dogs... but it is just a yellow lab with a red tint. It will be registered as yellow.

I know them personally, I know nothing about the dogs though. A buddy of mine has one that has shown some signs of being a nice trail dog for a young dog.

Guy I work with has bought two from them, both from genny and champ. Said both are awesome (great family/inside dogs, as well as field dogs).

Next dog I get will be one from them to keep my crazy Weim company.

Not trying to sway you, but have you checked out Wildrose?

My parents fox red from Wildrose, she is about 10 years old now.

I have a 4 year old female from Huntfield. She is a great dog and a hunting machine. They have really good bloodlines but some do have show champion mixed in further back. It does not seem to affect their drive at all. Wildrose kennels has better bloodlines but you will pay alot more for them and wait alot longer.

I thought that this thread was a bust. I didn't realize that anyone responded.

From what I can tell, wildrose is several hundred more, at least. I'm not sure on the wait, doesn't really matter, I'm in no rush. Huntfield does have some that were born at the end of last week, but the dam and sure look to be a little more long and lean. I like the blocky look.

It won't be used for hunting, pretty much just a pet. So a champion line is fine by me. They have another pairing due in July that I really like the looks of the parents, If I can get first or second pick at one of them, I'll probably wait.

They are mighty hard to get a hold of. Must be pretty busy over there.

The females are breed very often, but they are not a puppy mill, they take great care of the dogs and puppies, I went up there in person to get mine. Having that many puppies does have an effect on the look of the Dam. Mine has a more of a block head. I dont know if it is common with British Labs but mine and a few others that have female british labs from Wildrose do not like strange men and are very protective of their yard. They do not mind children or women.

Not sure if you're willing to drive, but two of my friends have red labs from Oklahoma and both are GREAT dogs. They didn't break the bank either. If you're interested, I can get you the info. Here's a photo of both from this season:

The Huntfield puppies from Sam and Glory should be great dogs. Same Sire but different Dam than mine. The Dam has the same grandparents as mine does though.

The ones available are from Sam and cricket I believe. The one pair I'm most interested in is Tide and Ginger, both of those look like the build I like. I've read other places that they breed them every time they come in to heat, I honestly don't know enough about it to have an opinion one way or the other.

Bluemoon, if the price is right, I'm not too good to make a drive. I you could pass along the info, I'll check it out.

I couldn't help it, I went ahead and got on the list at Huntfield. I have second pick between

"Ginger"

And "Tide"

I think they are both great looking dogs, hopefully I can get a pup that takes after them.

Good luck, those are some great looking dogs. I could not be happier with my lab from them.
