I generally make all of my pizzas from scratch. They always came out great and tasted like the Fluer (sp) on government street. I knew a waitress who worked there years ago and she told me what she saw when she watched the cooksmaking the sauce, dough, etc. I followed her directions and my homemade pizzas taste exactly like the pink place on government st. Well, a friend of mine told me to try PEPE's frozen dough that you ger from WalMart. I tried it yesterday and I'm hooked. I made the pizza in a square pan and it was great. I'm into healthy eating so I used turkey peperoni and reduced fat mozz. cheese. I love that pizza dough. You need to try it out.

Resurrecting this topicbecause I had a chance to try Pepe's Frozen Pizza Dough from Walmart. It's a quality product and I doubt you could distinguish it from a homemade dough.

I make my own dough in a large batch and freeze it in varying sized doughballs. This is pretty close to my dough but it's a lot more convenient.

Only problem is, Walmart remodeled their freezer section and now it's not there anymore. The 1 lb ball was $1.79 I think.

Thanks OP for the heads up on this product.

Where can you get it if it's not at Walmart?

If you look at Walmart online, it can tell you if a particular store has it. For the store I went to (Harahan under the Huey P), it said it could not determine if they had it. They did show the Walmart on W Esplanade in Kenner as having it. It was located next to the frozen dumplings and frozen rolls.

I'm hoping it just needs to be re-stocked.

Forget $1.79 for a single dough ball....you can make your own in the food processor for pennies per crust. Do like this: LINK
$3.99 for 5 lbs of flour yields 10-12 crusts, depending on how big you make 'em. It's a do-ahead recipe, so you can make them up to 5 days in advance.

As I said above, I routinely make a big batch (full 5 qt Hobart mixer) and get about 10 crusts. I just think sometimes this would be a good option. Aren't the dough balls at Whole Foods like $2.99?

Gosh, that's highway robbery. I'm teaching a pizza class on Th night, so I have homemade dough on the brain.
