Federal Snipers Train Guns on Family filming cattle BLM seizes cattle in range war with stubborn rancher

Short version: BLM seized land belonging to family. Family's cattle graze on land. Rancher doesn't pay grazing fee to gov. Gov seizes cattle.

If the government defended the citizens of this country with as much fervor as the environmentalist defend land, we would know what happened at Benghazi and at the IRS. Why does the BLM have snipers anyway.....to eradicate Elk?

people arent paying attention.

Our entire government has been militarizing over the last decade. Most departments have some in-house para-military group now.

But there is no tyranny. Just ask Obozo.

So why did the BLM seize the land?

Did a storm drain clog up and create a 'wetland' which must then be preserved for all eternity?

- IRS
- EPA
- OSHA
- PHMSA
- DHS / TSA
- DOL / NLRB

All these frickers need to back off.

18,000 agencies have SWAT teams

department of education SWAT team

check the agencies on these 2 links that have SWAT teams.....things are much worse than people realize...it will get worse before it gets better as most people don't understand that we already live in a totalitarian police state..yeah, I know tin foil hats...blah blah...when the EPA and department of education have SWAT teams, it's a police state and the nut job crowd is closer to the truth than most of us.

Close

"Despite having no legal right to do so, cattle from Bundy’s ranch have continued to graze throughout the Gold Butte area, competing with tortoises for food, hindering the ability of plants to recover from extensive wildfires, trampling rare plants, damaging ancient American Indian cultural sites and threatening the safety of recreationists,” the nonprofit Center for Biological Diversity said in a statement.

wait - did the land actually belong to those folks or was it public land?

It if was private land, then what are 'recreationists' doing on it to begin with?

And since when are cattle threatening the 'safety' of anyone?

These people are out of their mucking finds.

Maybe It sounded like something happened in 1993. Not exactly sure who owned what or if the government turned it into a national park.

I don't know the answer to those questions and the article doesn't really address them.

If he substituted Navajo or freed slave for Mormon he might have a shot.

Bundy is battling with federal officials over his cattle's grazing on 150 square miles of scrub desert overseen by the Bureau of Land Management. He has refused to pay BLM grazing fees since 1993, arguing in court filings that his Mormon ancestors worked the land long before the BLM was formed, giving him rights that predate federal involvement. His back fees exceed $300,000, he says.

Did they file a claim at the courthouse?

BLM oversees federal land. As states were entered into the Union, land owners filed claims on their holdings at the courthouse. Land that was not claimed, fell into the public domain, ie the federal gov't. BLM came along later to manage all that land. So it doesn't matter if they were ranching it before the BLM.

What DOES matter is if they've been paying property taxes on it all these years. If they can provide their tax records, the BLM wouldn't have a case.

I believe this property was originally Nevada public property before BLM control. Would that make a difference? According to another article I read Bundy was talking about states rights vs federal.
