Would you want them to tell us?

I'm kinda 50%/50% on this one... yeah... I'd like to know so I could try to save myself and my family... but if there was absolutely no hope I'd rather not know so that I wouldn't have to deal with all the rape, murder, and looting that would come before it...

And I'm speaking of an absolute known quick swift end to human kind... not some drawn out post apocalyptic setting.

No...I would give anything to spend my last remaining hours with wife, parents, brother, etc...however, like you said, the rape, murder, and carnage would be too much. There is no way we would all be able to get to each other without that, and I would rather not know than that happen to them.

Yeah but just a day in advance or maybe even just 8 hours. I'd hate to be at the end of a long workday and then boom we're done. I'd like to have enough time with my family but not enough time for the raping and pillaging and whatnot.

The average human being would not be able to comprehend that there is not enough time for all of the extra activities. That is the problem.

Well I mean if you were home with your family when it was told.. then yeah.. but that wouldn't be likely for most of humanity... I think most of that time even for those in a safe place would just be spent in a situation of disbelief, questioning, and fear... no real "quality time".

exactly... the pillagers would pillage without a comprehension of time... the disbelievers would disbelieve... the preparers would try and prepare... I doubt few would accept the end and spend quality time with loved ones.

If you found out at.....7:00 am. You would probably already be at work. It would take you no less than 2 hrs to get home. Then you have to get your kids from school. Which would take another hour at least...

You may want more than 8 hours, cause now you only have 5 hours left.

You've seen the traffic when a hurricane is coming. Imagine that, in all directions.

From an old Steve Martin routine:

"Remember when the Earth blew up and we all got on the giant Space Ark and came to a new planet and the government decided not to tell all the dumb people....(voice trails off)".

I prolly wouldn't want to know. If there's something past this life then we'll figure it all out then. If not, the last eight hours wouldn't matter.

Also, I would want to know.

I'd want to know, but the world wouldn't need to know.

There is a movie that deals with this exact topic called A Friend For the End of the World or something. It's Steve Carrel and Keira Knightley and it's pretty good. I think the World finds out about a month before the end. Steve's wife leaves him, Keira cant get home to England b/c the airlines either stopped running or it's way too expensive. Can't remember which.
It was on Netflix.

There's an even better movie that follows four or five strangers through the last 24 hours of the world. Showed some interesting perspectives.

Last Night was the name of it.

I would want to know. I'd be happy knowing I could clear up any issues I had with anyone in my family or friends. The last thing I said to my father before he passed was I love him and that has been extremely satisfying for me. I'd like to be able to make sure I left on good terms with everyone.

That's not a problem for me. If its ending without a doubt as the op stated, I can cut the shite and just enjoy every last minute.

Absolutely I would want to know. I could quit worrying about studying and go rape, loot and pillage instead.
