A friends of mine is organizing a bachelor party in mid May. I wanted to see if the OB had any recommendations for speck/red guide services in the Galveston Bay area. It's about 12-13 guys so I would assume 2 boats will be needed. If anyone has any experience using charters down there, any input will be appreciated. TIA

No recommendations, but more like 4 boats. Three grown men and a guide in each boat. Four plus a guide, even in a 24' boat can get crowded.

Depending on the budget drive the 2.5hrs to hackberry rod and gun club. Maybe even rent there over night fishing trip on a large house boat.

Check out 3G fishing charters. Had fun with them.

I've been out of Galveston with Captain Mike Williams and he put us on bull reds. 48" was my best that trip and is still my personal record.

12-13 guys is a ton though and only two boats wouldn't help much. Probably trying to rent out a party boat for your private group will be your best option. Galveston has fewer larger yacht type (don't know what exactly they're called) fishin g boats than places like Destin.

As someone mentiond, I would go the Hackberry route with HR&G. As for the Galvatraz area, I pretty much stick to East Bay when I fish closer to home. Hands down the best guide in East Bay is Jim West and you can twist off pretty good on the Boliver Peninsula if you want. He has some guys that he works with that can pinch hit with him for multiple boats.
