The comments are pretty good...

Poor shark, their just gonna hang it up on their wall

quote:

yup, doesn't seem to make any sense. That shark has lived possibly decades, and now it's life is ended so some people can hang it up on their wall, until they get sick of it and throw it in the basement, and when they die, the shark will be thrown in the trash. I love fishing, but catch and release, or atleast keep for dinner.

quote:

Why did you kill it? So, tell us Capt. Dineen, What are you going to do with it? Catch and release, 720lb. Mako needs to be released. Pictures are nothing, after it is dead. The crowd was probably pissed off, you drunks killed another creature that need to be released!!!

quote:

Thank goodness the Captain is named in the article. I know which guide I will not be using this Summer. Been a fisherman all my life. Frankly I can't imagine not being able to safely release this creature. Is 720 lb shark meat that tasty? Better than legal cobia? The 1970's called. They want their views on conservation back.

Happens every year. Makos are prevalent during cobia season. It really is stupid to kill one though. People who kill big sharks are probably the same people who kill harmless snakes. I call these people, pussies. / thread
