making a new generation of fnas.

I am about 50 years old and my parents had a strict bed time for me even of weekends. But I saw all the games not because my parents made exceptions but because they were on at decent times.

I wonder how many kids who would have been excited about bball and become fans missed out yesterday because they were in bed.

It was on a Saturday night. And it was over by 10:30. That is very reasonable IMO

The bigger issue is the "live" vs TV experience. Kids have no idea about the live experience because the tickets are so damn expensive and the participating schools get fewer and fewer seats so you have young fens that will never materialize in the future because their past has no sights, sound, or smells of the real thing.

Why baseball doesn't at least schedule their World Series games on Saturday and Sunday in the afternoon so kids can see them, I have no idea.

TV money, it is all about what TV and corporations want. No longer about what the actual fans want.

Most people live in the Eastern time zone.

I realize that is the stated reason, but I don't think they are right. When the bulk of your viewing population (east of the Mississippi) literally turns off your program halfway through - or never tunes in because they know they will never see the resolution - how effective can that be?

TV experts make horrendous programming decisions all the time. Why baseball allows these imbeciles to run their product into the ground is amazing.

Expand on that.

Don't think anyone went to get cable just so they couldn't miss these games.....

Plus you get more viewers/eyes for the ads.

CBS probably gets better ratings and ad dollars from there Saturday night primetime than bball.

Most TV "experts" reside in NYC or LA and not in the actual footprints of the fans. How can you be an expert if you never grew up in the culture. That said, these folks make the decisions and think they are right based on the bottom line.

I don't think that's accurate because Saturday night(and Friday) is usually not primetime television. Now it's possibly true that whatever tbs normally schedules Saturday night doesn't generate nearly as much as cbs Saturday lineup, so they figured to maximize revenue by putting the games on tbs instead of cbs.
