We've got to get the most talent on the field.

Based on yesterday our Best Linebackers are in no particular order, Deion Jones, Kwon, Lamar Louis, and Ronnie Feist.

I do not know our will man the ILB role, but Beckwith and Welter didn't stand out to me. More chasing RB's up the field by Welter, and I didn't get a very good look at Kendall B. Seems like between Lamar Louis & Ronnie Feist one of them could play the Mike but Chavis gone Chavis and likely Welter will lead the team in tackles 10 yards up the field again.

I have believed Deion to be a future NFL starting linebacker since his freshman year...I do not know why he does not play more all he does is make plays when its game time.

My welter troll thread last year was 15 pages of greatness but I was right in the end he started every game.

i was adamant that he wouldn't come off the field for a true freshman or anyone else. Chavis likes experience at linebacker.

Chavis gone Chavis meaning he's gonna ride or die with DJ.

I'd rather have D.J. in the game on 3rd and medium to longs....but on 1st down or short down and distance he's definitely a liability.

I think Kwon and Deon are the clear cut best players at OLBs. With them 2 out there we have tremendous range on outside running plays and they are both great against the pass. Really only worried about the MLB spot. Wether it's Welter, Fiest, Beckwith, or Louis that guy has to step up and be above average.iI hhonestly think that if we get a good MLB then this defense might be best in the SEC. 2 great corners, a budding new safety, another safety who is just now learning the position but has an excellent nose for the ball, 2 excellent OLBs, 2 good DEs.. really just worried about the DTs, depth at DE, and the MLB

Speaking of Safety i thought Ricky Jefferson looked really good yesterday. As did Ed Paris, i'm thinking Ed will lockdown that nickel role and potentially a starting job.

Dwayne Thomas has the nickel spot locked up. He was really good in that role last year. Seemed like he always made a play.

And where would Paris start at? Over RR and Tre White?

I'm not sure yet but he looked great in man coverage yesterday again some WR's with good size. He was never beaten.

I can see him taking reps from Tre & RR. I don't think any of them have to have the title of "Starter" I think he will be in the mix.

What's the depth chart looking like? What LB position is Feist playing these days?

That means 10 yards in the backfield

FWIW, Beckwith didn't play middle line backer in the Spring game yesterday. Welter started on White, Louis on Purple. Beckwith was playing on the right and left. I never saw him playing in the middle.

Louis was #23 in a green jersey and played outside for the white team. Beckwith played middle for the purple team. There is a good highlight video in the stickied thread if you need to re-watch.
