Feds accuse longshoremen of threatening to rape United Grain manager's daughter, harm boss's kids

quote:

The National Labor Relations Board accused longshoremen this week of assaulting United Grain Corp. security officers and threatening to rape a manager's daughter and harm a boss's children.

quote:

Hooks alleged that Local 4 members “threatened to rape the daughter of one of the employer’s managers,” and implied threats to harm a manager’s children by telling him they would “see his children at school” and asking, “are (his) children okay today?”

when those on the DEM-liberal side do wrong, it's an isolated incident

when those on the GOP-conservative side do wrong, it's an indictment over the entire group

Over the Christmas holidays, when I was still at LSU, my father sent me to one of the wharfs in New Orleans to have a late arriving crane boom loaded onto a vessel. The plan was to have me board the ship and convince the first mate to load it with the ship's crew. The first mate, who had issues with the local longshoreman, was more than willing to do so.

During the operation a couple of local union "business agents" arrived and threatened my life for not calling out union labor. The part was already on board and the first mate pretty much told the agents to go frick themselves. What cost us nothing to load would have required us to call out a gang of 14 to 16 longshoremen all making at least $18.00 per hour for a minimum of four hours. And the ship's crew still would have loaded the boom without the union's assistance. We would have paid their wages for just standing around.

When I got home my dad said "you learned two important lessons today. One about saving money and the other about dealing with union scum."

You don't understand the bargaining process. Raping the manager's daughter and harming his children are what is called 'throwaway issues.' They will agree not to rape her after management moves on some of their demands.

I don't think so. Has Anderson Cooper been defending rape threats?

These guys have ridiculously simplistic Marxist assumptions about class struggle. So no matter how antiquated Unions become and no matter how counter-productive they are, these guys will still defend them. To them it is always The Industrial Revolution and businesses are still "robber barons".

no but I'm guessing he's considered part of the liberal mainstream media.

Unions aren't inherently evil any more than any other institution (most of which are mostly good at self-perpetuating).

99% of union members don't know what 'robber barons' means. 95% don't know what the 'industrial revolution' means.

Today, there are only two terms they understand:

"The rich man"

"The working man"

They dropped 'the poor man' back in the 70s because it started to connote welfare recipients.
