Why isn't more soccer on television?

Seems when you are up at 6am or later they could be showing live soccer over seas but instead ESPN and other programs shows replays of shows you don't care about. I would personally love to view more live soccer options on my television without having to pay for it.

NBC Sports, which you likely have, shows plenty

ETA: Television rights = your answer, though. ESPN only holds US rights to a couple of lower profile competitions which they generally just throw on ESPN3

If you want to watch it, you can find it. I'm watching my 4th live game of the day.

Yep. You can watch live BPL, La Liga and Bundesliga games every weekend. I just wish the MLS would get more TV exposure.

We have more options now than any other time on American tv. Every Saturday you can watch atleast 2 games on NBCSN and NBC plays most of the late EPL games. I believe ESPN will air the Copa del Ray. I do wish that MLS could get 2 or 3 games on national tv every week.

I'm watching my 4th as well. 3 were on NBCSN, 1 on NBC. Will watch SKC/RSL later on MLS Live.

I am not even a huge soccer fan, and I watched two matches this morning.

This. It's getting better. I believe Fox is getting the Bundesliga in 2015. The MLS really needs to re-negotiate. They basically get one game a week on TV.

I think Fox will have most of the rights, but ESPN will have some as well. So hopefully, all games that aren't on FOX will be on ESPN3 at least.

Only problem with going to fox it seems is that Most of the MLB Saturday games are on FS1 now so any early MLS game will likely be bumped to FS2 (which some carriers like Comcast don't carry)

I have DirecTV and I think the only way to get BeIn is to get one of the most expensive tv packages they carry. I wished I could just buy a premium sports package without all the other bs channels.

That would be great if Fox gets the Bundesliga. I had the Bundesliga on Gol TV. But then we got BeIn with La Liga and Gol TV became a 15 dollar a month add on.

Yup. I just don't watch enough TV to justify the extra $40 a month.

This is going to be my first time paying for tv in about 5 years and thats only b/c the amount of shite you can get on british tv is insane.
