I saw it in theaters and it was AWFUL. It suiuuuucked, and I distinctly remember the shittastic ending. USA is running an IJ marathon today and in the guide it says this shite got 3 stars? That's the same number they gave last crusade!

So my question is...since its been abt 5 years for the stink to fade, would it be worth giving a second chance?

I don't think it deserves nearly the hate that it gets. Sure the aliens were a tad ridiculous, but otherwise it was as solid as the others. I'd watch it again over Temple of Doom.

No.

And I think you're well aware that 99% of the answers, just like the reviews at the time, will say that it was abysmal.

I've only seen it the once and don't have fond memories. Was thinking of rewatching them all with my daughter since she is 10 and might dig them.

It absolutely does. The swinging monkeys? The sword fight scene? Awful. Just awful.

It's probably the one I enjoy most. That or Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Interdimensional beings are just as believable as a knight sitting around for 700 years in a cave, flaming hearts, and the ark to me. The monkeys, the speed racer tree cutters, the flying fridge, and the sword fight did distract, but not enough to make it unwatchable. It certainly is not as good as TOD though, and anyone who dislikes TOD is a whiny bitch.

Oh I agree with most of that. The aspects of the movie that weren't believable didn't ruin the movie for me, the movie did.

Sure! Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade was fantastic!

Wait...was there something after that?
