These guys are chewing the hell out of the rafters on my porch. It is unpainted treated pine. Any remedies?

Badminton racket. Maybe hose it down with some of that hornet spray.

Leave them alone, you are just lucky they don't sting.

They were making holes in my fascia board underneath my gutters. I got a $1.00 squeeze bottle from Wal-Mart, filled it with Sevin powder, duct taped one of those bending straws bent @ 90 degrees on the squeeze bottle tip so I could get the straw in holes behind the gutter. Blasted each hole with the Sevin and killed all of them and their offspring. They have been gone for several years since but appear to be back this spring. Time to get blasting.

I've heard that wood dowels and wood putty over the holes at night can trap them inside the nests. Then they'll typically starve since they won't burrow out.

Also painted wood seems to deter them from making new holes and nests in the painted wood.

I have never used an air soft gun. How do they work? Will it shoot a hole in my metal roof?

Gotta be a badminton racket, they'll go through tennis rackets. This is actually good stress relief in the afternoons. They always come home to nest right before sunset. You can usually knock them out this way if your dedicated.
