Well guys, my arrival to the wonderful state of Louisiana is dated on the calendar. I'll be doing the Walking Dead Escape Memorial Day weekend. I'll be in town for 2 nights. Where's the best place to buy a beer?

You'll need to be specific as to where you're staying and what you want to do.

And ignore the idiots.

There are only about 1800 places to do this.

Where are you staying. Are you with family. What kind of places do you like and don't like.
shite man, we could go all over the place with your question of things to do in N.O.

Yeah, do the La thing. Never leave Bourbon, stay drunk or hungover, eat at shitty restaurants, then go home and tell people you don't understand why N.O. is so popular.

The GF and I are staying at one of the La Quintas. Not sure where it's at in relation to the Superdome. I let her book the room.

I'm sorry.

If you want good food, go post on the food board.
What the hell are you looking for? Music, real food, strip clubs, shopping, etc?

I assume it's the Quinta in the CBD. Good area.

Spend less than 1% of your time on Bourbon. It's the worst part of Nola.

I'd spend a lot of time in the Warehouse District since you won't be that far.

Eat at Domenica. Luke for Happy Hour 25 cent oysters. Steaks at La Boca. Sandwiches at Cochon Butcher. Upscale Cajun at Cochon.

Drink at Lucy's, Barcadia, Vic's, WINO, etc. not my scene but it's not too far.

Do not eat at Mothers. Tourist place.

Also listen to music on Frenchmen St. You'll have a blast there.

Ditto everything Fun Bunch posted.

If the whole WWII history is your thing, go to the museum if you have the time.
Maybe hop the street car down St. Charles and walk over to Magazine St to shop and hit a few bars uptown.

If you have a restaurant in town worth a shite, call for a reservation now. Now might be too late.

Chat up the locals, be nice, and have fun.

Solid list. I could edit that and make it more uptown stuff, but that post doesn't need to be changed for him

WW2 museum and uptown Magazine St are good suggestions. Eat lunch at Coquette there and then start walking.
