Putting together my first AR lower

Tell me what tools I need. I know I need some punches...what size? I've heard a few people say a vice. What else?

A gun Smith hammer, a vice, the thing that goes in the mag well for the vice to grip, and set of punches. I don't know what size punches, just but a cheap set of a bunch. That ought to get you started.

I'd add a punch, I think mine is about the size of a finishing nail.

Yea I vice isn't really necessary. It does make it easier but it's not difficult without one. Just get a buddy to give you an extra hand when needed

I like tools so I bought all the really useful ones, none of which I would consider "necessary," but they definitely make for an easier build with a much less probability of scratching your receiver. First couple of lowers I ever assembled, all I used was a set of channel locks and a flathead for the pistol grip. By far the most useful tools imo are these Brownells roll pin holders.. Love these things.
ETA: here's the rest of the shite I have if you were wondering. Everything you need to assemble it as a gunsmith likely would.
