Have you ever just ditched a vehicle?

I've done it 3x. I didn't give a shite, they were shitty cars and not worth the hassle.
First time was my first car, I drove it like a racecar and 4x4, I tore it to pieces. It was a POS after teenage me had it a couple years and something with the teeth on the timing chain or something associated with it broke, I don't remember what exactly. I just drove it to a shitty auto auction, left the keys in it, and hopped in a friend's car and left it there. I think it was parked there for almost a year.
The second time, I had gotten in a crash and due to my sketchy driving record and history of wrecks I didn't claim the damage on my insurance and paid out of pocket for the fix that should've totaled that truck out. So truck in the shop, I needed transportation to work and with $400 of my last $500 I bought a janky 1984 Lincoln Towncar, drove it for a couple months, got pulled over constantly because it was such a POS, then when it was time to get my truck out of the shop I drove the towncar there to get my truck and said frick going back to get that POS towncar.
The third time, that same dang truck broke down right before I was to leave for a summer internship. I made arrangements with a shop to fix it while I was gone, and that I'd be back 1/2 through my summer internship and pick it up, pay them, and either park it a friend's or give them some extra cash for a month's parking in their tow lot.
I show up, and they hadn't even began the repairs after a month. I go back to Cali, do really well in this gig, make some bonuses on top of a decent commission for the sales, and when I got back to Oklahoma I just bought another car straight cash and didn't even frick with the shop or that truck. I could've gotten it fixed and then sold it, but I wouldn't have got much more than the repairs would've cost me because they tacked on a bunch of shite that was questionable I thought. frick em, should've been done when I came to get it the first time. With the sesmester starting in a couple of days I didn't even want to hassle with the logistics of parking for a third vehicle.

I had a friend who ditched a trans am (in the 70's) on his way to Pikes Peak. Ended up catching a bus from Colorado Springs to NYC to watch a Yankees game, they fly back to La. His folks were loaded.

I ditched one of the nicer vehicles I had in school. I had a 1997 Montero, not the fake Sport POS models, the big seven passenger one. I blew an engine and paid $4000 for a new one. Nine months later, engine blew again.
I put it in the garage of a rental I had. When I moved I left it behind with the keys and title.

We wrecked my friend's mom's car when we were 12.
Left that thing and ran.

Just left em on there.
Like I said, didn't give a shite. Disposable possession.

Nope but I wrote free car with shoe polish on an old Mazda 626 and it was gone in less than 30 minutes.

In college I had a yard business. I'm mowing a yard and see flames coming out of my car. The interior was on fire. I eventually put it out but the seats, steering wheel, roof and doors were destroyed....but I could still drive it. Went and bought a car the next day and the dealership asked me if I had a trade in. Should have seen their faces when I showed them

Had a car and the wiring harness was arching on the exhaust. Left it in a parking lot for a week and sold it to a buddy for a couple hundred bucks but he had to tow it. Best decision I've ever made.
