This guy seems to be what country music was more so than anyone in recent memory. Interesting article in Garden & Gun about him this month.

I can't get enough of High Top Moutain. I have seen him play twice and it is absolutely incredible. I even went back and bought his Sunday Valley album and really enjoy that.

All that said..... The subject matter of his upcoming album makes me nervous. I'm sure it will still sound great though.

I did not know that Aldean even attempted to act like he wrote any of his songs.

Also...I've hear ol' Aldean has a pretty hardcore drug problem right now...anyone else heard that?

I was kidding, and I think Neil Thrasher actually does/did the majority of the writing for Aldean

Downloaded his album after reading the G&G article. Love everything about it. His music is what country music is supposed to be.

-Hero is my favorite tune btw.

He's fricking AMAZING!

That's my opinion of him. His next album may be batshit crazy though. He's an odd guy.

Washington Post article about Stu and his new album.

Am I the only one who has no idea about any of this stuff?

I just downloaded the Sunday Valley album. It's pretty badass so far. And here is a rolling stone writeup I found: LINK

quote:

His forthcoming Metamodern Sounds In Country Music stretches his vintage sound even further with dub effects and lines like "Marijuana, LSD, psilocybin, DMT, they all changed the way I see/But love's the only thing that's ever saved my life."

My god I can't wait for this album!

Truly free. During the album’s opening track, “Turtles All the Way Down,” he encounters Jesus Christ, Buddha, a hit of DMT, an angry God and “reptile aliens made of light.

True country on DMT?

He's laughing at the outlaws of old and their coke habits
