Dealing with brown patch in the yard...

Any success stories in dealing with this issue once it has already set in?
I'm looking for the best fungicide mostly. Then I'll have to regrow grass (centipede) once the area has been treated. Any concrete, first had experience/advice is welcome.

Go to plant tech on old jefferson hwy. Tell them you got brown patch. They will sell you a granular looks like a fertilizer. Cut the grass, spread out this granular hit it with a little water and your done!
Plant tech, that guy has it together Sheldon is his name. Take pictures of my weeds and show him all the time and he tells me what I need. I am sure there is cheaper around but his knowledge is worth every penny

In Saskatchewan isn't all of your grass brown (or white) now?
Seriously, I've used several different brands of fungicide (Bayer, Ortho, Scotts) and they have all worked. But it can take a long time for the grass to come back if the patches are large. Are you sure that it is not chinch bugs? The first time I had a problem I treated for chinch bugs for a few months and after it took out more than half my lawn I finally realized it was fungus. That took the rest of the year to recover (about 3 months). I've got St. Augustine which has runners so it comes back faster than most.
And I have to use fungicide every couple of months or so or it will come back. That may be due to having a lawn surrounded by woods which I believe is the source of the fungus since the attack is continuous.

Plant tech sounds like a good start. I can brig photos and ask about the products that Tigris and tiger1982 recommended and see which direction your podnuh points me in.

You may not be able to purchase the Fore 80WP. I got it from my licensed landscaper buddy, apparently its some pretty potent stuff. He gave me a shite ton of it, so if thats the route you want to go, I have PLENTY!

Ive got a few smaller size dead pathces in my st aug. How do you know if its a fungus or if its chinch bugs.

For chinch bugs you can take a large can and cut the top and bottom off. Then twist it a few inches into the sod and pour in water until you have a few inches of standing water. The chinch bugs will come up to the top of the water. Or you can often just look carefully in an infected area of grass and see them. They are fairly small but visible and usually are there in pretty good numbers in an infestation.

I've got brown patch bad. Right now, I just have to fertalize and the lawn gets healty again by around May. I just have to make sure to get a good fungicide down by the end of August or it pops up again. Once it starts, I really couldn't stop it. I think I'm going to have to apply the fungicide after every other lawn cutting.

After seeing this I'm certain that I don't have chinch bugs. I've been down there for hours working on these spots and have never seen these bugs.

This is a shot of my front yard. The area is not shaded at all, and does not hold water. This was after I mowed and sprayed for weeds yesterday. It looked like this through the summer last year but I was working too much to do anything about it. Is this the infamous "brown patch"?

Looks like it could be. I'll post pics for reference later today. Mine is so bad right now though that the grass has receded in places leaving behind just a hard dirt patch. I'm surely going to have to aerify, probably put down some sand to help the dirt stay loose, and treat with fungicide.

Yep looks like brown patch to me. I've been fighting this crap for the last couple years myself. shite can get aggravating but this year I've held off weed n feed till later to allow the roots to start growing better. Read this will help keep the lawn healthier through out the year.
