Anyone ever use these?

LINK

Got awful leg cramps during a half ... Well hydrated and this doesn't happen during training runs. Did nothing different today. Knee was hurting so I walked and knee was ok but calves were a mfer but knee was ok.

Not sure where to go from here. Thanks to anyone with helpful answers.

I took them before I ran a marathon last year and didn't cramp, not sure what they can do for a knee though.

We took those in highschool before football games, they didn't seem to have any real effect for us.

Helps to avoid going hyponatremic, especially on endurance sports. Make sure to stay hydrated of course though

Oh it won't help the knee but I could have walked when I needed to without almost falling over!

Thanks ... 3rd opinion coming on the knee.

All I got is, my dad played fb for La Tech in the late 60s and my brother played for Byrd in the late 80s. My brother was having cramps at practice and my dad told him to tell the coaches he needed salt tablets. I don't remember the exact quote from the coaches, but it had something to with archaic or antiquated ideas about sat and cramping.

Carry you one oz of vinegar. Best quick fix for any cramps. What happens is that you are getting a body chemical unbalance. Drink extra water before hand too!

When I'm done I can literally lick my arm (if I wanted to) and its saltier than idk what. I can taste it when I shower and rinse my face before washing it! Yuk.

Runners remind me why we do this??

You get two or three times the nacl you need in your diet and 13.1 isnt that long a distance. Better stretching and hydration could help.

I not too sure about what cytomax is but it sounds good. If you are drinking plenty of that and still cramping, I would suggest stretching better and also drinking more. Depending on the distances you are running, it may be a good idea to bring a couple salt packs in your pocket to eat on the run. Your knee generally shouldnt be because of cramps but more from stress.

Fish yes! Lol. I've for dog brain.

And Sunday I've got a meniscus issue like a tear ...one doc said don't run. A runner ortho said if taping it helps them tape it and keep going ... Made it through Louisana half fine but not today ... It may be time to do something or at least get a 3rd opinion. The 2 I have are polar opposites!!

Oh and cytomax is like skratch ... For before and during endurance sports. Has ways worked for me ... Can't handle Gatorade.

Thanks.

An electrolyte is anything that ionizes when mixed into something else. In human body terms, anything that ionizes in water. So salt turns into Na+ and Cl-.

Ok then you should be fine chemically. Just constult your doctor about whats in that stuff to make sure its safe. For the knee, just work on therapy and stretches. You'll of course have trouble from time to time but just be smart about it. Dont run through the pain and really injure yourself.
