every thing was a awesome as I remember it food wise.
Was with an out of town friend and he kind of was just caught up on wanting to eat meat, so we got that meat platter appetizer and a hanger steak for me and some kind of flap steak for him.

I still love how they can get such a good seasoning and tender texture on a cut like the hanger.
Great service from the bartenders and reasonably priced drinks for a downtown place.

Tried to get in at Cochon, thinking just maybe a party of 2 could squeeze in at 7 on a Wednesday.
One hour and fifteen minute wait.

It is consistently topnotch.

shite, how were you able to get into La Boca. Those are tough tables without advance reservation in my experience.

Well, they moved three weeks ago, so they have some more tables.
Even with that though, the restaurants was full, but we managed to get the last two seats at the bar.
I love the new place.

Absurd question, I know, but do they have non-steak items on the menu?

Have any of you all ever had the chef tasting there? I heard it's incredible. I think you have to have a party of at least 4.

I have had friends tell me that they have made exceptions.
It has to be the best deal in the city. It is a copious amount of food.

I've only had the tasting with a party of four, but maybe they make exceptions. Dunno. I do know it's a fantastic value, and the food is terrific.

I forgot about the move. Have they changed the decor much? It seems like I've had this discussion with someone or it was discussed here.

Decor is similiar, nice half moon bar in the middle of the space. Semi-open view to the kitchen. They said there were still a few things to finish, last week when I was there.... But I like it. Thumbs up on new spot.... Same feel with a better bar, more room.

That's exactly how I would put it.

The best thing about last night, is that I helped totally impress an out of towner with New Orleans. His hometown has next to nothing for good choices. I took him to hear the Dirty Dozen Brass Band at the square and got him a few Abita beers. Even though the weather wasn't perfect, he really loved hanging in the warehouse district, which is a long way from his small town in Oklahoma.
I tried to think of something more with a New Orleans feel within an easy walking distance, but I couldn't come up with anything.

Yes. We did it with a group of 20 for my birthday. It was fantastic, and PLENTY of food! Helluva a deal too for $45.

Gotta say that the manager was kind of dick though.
